Clearing XRecords

Command

Command Description
ATUTILS_CLEAR_ALL_XRECORDS Clear all extended records from drawing entities

Prerequisites

  • A drawing must be open

Overview

Clears all XRecord (extended record) data from entities in the drawing. XRecords store FireCAD metadata such as segment information, entity tracking data, and report fingerprints.

Steps

  1. Type ATUTILS_CLEAR_ALL_XRECORDS in the AutoCAD command line
  2. All XRecord data is removed from drawing entities

Important Notes

  • Use with caution — this removes all FireCAD metadata from drawing entities
  • After clearing XRecords, you will need to re-validate the drawing (ATVALIDATE) to rebuild the metadata
  • This is a maintenance/troubleshooting command, not for regular use

When to Use

  • When XRecord data has become corrupted
  • As a last resort troubleshooting step
  • When preparing a drawing to be stripped of all FireCAD data
