Deleting Orphaned Records

Command

Command Description
ATDELETE_ORPHANS Delete orphaned database records and update labels

Ribbon: FireCAD > Validation > Purge Deleted Entities And Circuits

Prerequisites

  • A FireCAD project must be open

Overview

Validates all segments and devices in the active drawing, deletes any orphaned database records (records that no longer correspond to drawing entities), and updates all labels.

Steps

  1. Type ATDELETE_ORPHANS in the AutoCAD command line
  2. FireCAD scans for orphaned records
  3. Orphaned records are deleted from the database
  4. All device and wirepath labels are updated

When to Use

  • After deleting entities directly in AutoCAD (without using FireCAD commands)
  • When the database contains records for entities that no longer exist in the drawing
  • As a cleanup step after drawing modifications

Tips

  • This performs segment and device validation before cleanup
  • Labels refresh automatically after orphan deletion
