ATREFRESH_BLOCKS |
Reset all block definitions from the project database |
Ribbon: FireCAD > Validation > Reset Device Block Definitions
Prerequisites
- A FireCAD project must be open
Overview
The ATREFRESH_BLOCKS command resets all block definitions in the current drawing to match the definitions stored in the project database. This is useful when block definitions have been accidentally modified in the drawing and you want to restore them to their database versions.
Steps
-
Type
ATREFRESH_BLOCKSin the AutoCAD command line -
A confirmation dialog appears:
"This will reset all block definitions in the current drawing with the definitions stored in the project database. All attributes will be reset to default locations and orientation. Do you wish to continue?"
-
Click Yes to proceed or No to cancel
-
If you click Yes:
- Block definitions are updated from the database
- A progress dialog appears while device labels are refreshed
- All block instances in the drawing update to reflect the restored definitions
Important Notes
- This resets all block definitions, not just selected ones
- Attribute positions and orientations are reset to their defaults as stored in the database
- Any manual adjustments to block geometry or attribute placement in the drawing will be lost
- Device labels are automatically refreshed after the block update
Tips
- Use this after importing updated blocks via
ATUPDATE_PROJECTto ensure the drawing uses the latest definitions - If you only need to update specific blocks, consider using
ATREPLACE_BLOCKREFSinstead - This is a safe operation — it restores from database rather than deleting anything
