Removing a Branch

Command

Command Description
ATREMOVE_BRANCH Remove selected devices from a branch circuit

Prerequisites

  • A FireCAD project must be open
  • An active circuit must be selected (the branch circuit)
  • The active drawing must be part of the project

Overview

The ATREMOVE_BRANCH command removes selected devices from a branch circuit. This disconnects the devices from the branch.

Steps

  1. Select the branch circuit in the Circuits palette
  2. Type ATREMOVE_BRANCH in the AutoCAD command line
  3. You are prompted: "Select devices to remove from branch '[Circuit Name]':"
  4. Select one or more devices on the branch
  5. Press Enter to confirm
  6. The devices are removed from the branch
  7. You can continue selecting more devices (press Escape to finish)

Tips

  • Removed devices remain in the drawing but are no longer connected to the branch circuit
  • After removal, devices can be reconnected to a different circuit with ATCONNECT
  • If all devices are removed from a branch, the branch circuit record may remain in the database — use ATDELETE_ORPHANS to clean up empty circuits if needed
