Disconnecting Devices from a Circuit

Command

Command Description
ATDISCONNECT Remove selected devices from the active circuit

Prerequisites

  • A FireCAD project must be open
  • An active circuit must be selected in the Circuits palette
  • The active drawing must be part of the project

Overview

The ATDISCONNECT command removes selected devices from the currently active circuit. The devices remain in the drawing but are no longer part of the circuit's topology.

Steps

  1. Select the target circuit in the Circuits palette
  2. Type ATDISCONNECT in the AutoCAD command line
  3. You are prompted: "Select devices to disconnect from '[Circuit Name]':"
  4. Select one or more devices currently on the circuit
  5. Press Enter to confirm
  6. The devices are removed from the circuit
  7. You can continue selecting more devices (press Escape to finish)

What Happens

  • The selected devices' circuit connection records are removed from the database
  • Wire labels and addresses for disconnected devices are cleared
  • Remaining devices on the circuit retain their connections
  • The physical block references remain in the drawing — only the circuit relationship is removed

Tips

  • Disconnecting a device does not delete it from the drawing — it only removes the circuit association
  • After disconnecting, the device can be connected to a different circuit with ATCONNECT
  • If you disconnect a device that has a branch, the branch and its devices may also be affected
