Move devices from one branch point to another on the same circuit |
Prerequisites
- A FireCAD project must be open
- An active circuit must be selected in the Circuits palette
- The active drawing must be part of the project
Overview
The ATRELOCATE_BRANCH command moves selected devices from their current position on a circuit to a branch off a different device on the same circuit. This effectively changes which device the selected devices branch from.
Steps
- Select the circuit in the Circuits palette
- Type
ATRELOCATE_BRANCHin the AutoCAD command line - Connected devices on the circuit are highlighted
- You are prompted: "Select devices to relocate to a branch on '[Circuit Name]':"
- Select the devices you want to move
- Press Enter
- You are prompted: "Select a device on circuit '[Circuit Name]' to branch from:"
- Select the new branching point device
- The devices are moved to the new branch
Tips
- Both the devices being moved and the new branch point must be on the same circuit
- This is useful for reorganizing circuit topology without disconnecting and reconnecting devices manually
