  • An active circuit must be selected in the Circuits palette
  • The active drawing must be part of the project

Overview

The ATRELOCATE_BRANCH command moves selected devices from their current position on a circuit to a branch off a different device on the same circuit. This effectively changes which device the selected devices branch from.

Steps

  1. Select the circuit in the Circuits palette
  2. Type ATRELOCATE_BRANCH in the AutoCAD command line
  3. Connected devices on the circuit are highlighted
  4. You are prompted: "Select devices to relocate to a branch on '[Circuit Name]':"
  5. Select the devices you want to move
  6. Press Enter
  7. You are prompted: "Select a device on circuit '[Circuit Name]' to branch from:"
  8. Select the new branching point device
  9. The devices are moved to the new branch

Tips

  • Both the devices being moved and the new branch point must be on the same circuit
  • This is useful for reorganizing circuit topology without disconnecting and reconnecting devices manually
