Entity Properties Editor

Command

Command Description
ATSET_ENTITY_PROPERTIES Open the Entity Properties Editor for a selected device

Ribbon: FireCAD > Entity Properties > Set Entity Properties

Prerequisites

  • A FireCAD project must be open
  • A single device must be selected in the drawing

Overview

The Entity Properties Editor provides direct editing of custom properties for an individual device entity. Unlike the Device Properties palette, this editor shows the raw property records from the database and allows full CRUD (create, read, update, delete) operations.

Layout

A compact window (546 x 300 pixels) containing:

  • An instruction label at the top
  • A data grid occupying most of the window
  • Action buttons along the bottom

Data Grid Columns

Column Description
Entity Property Name The name identifier for the property
Entity Property Value The value assigned to this property
Is Attribute Checkbox — when checked, the property generates an AutoCAD attribute
Label Order Numeric value controlling the display order on device labels

Buttons

Button Action
Add Entity Property Create a new property row with default values
Delete Selected Remove selected property rows (with confirmation)
Apply Save all changes and close
Cancel Discard changes and close

Steps

  1. Select a device in the drawing
  2. Type ATSET_ENTITY_PROPERTIES in the AutoCAD command line
  3. The editor opens with existing properties for the selected device
  4. Add, edit, or delete properties as needed
  5. Click Apply to save changes

Tips

  • New properties are created with default values — edit the name and value after adding
  • Multiple rows can be selected for deletion using Shift+Click or Ctrl+Click
  • If you close the window with unsaved changes, a confirmation prompt appears
  • This editor modifies properties for a single entity; use ATPROPERTIES for bulk operations across multiple devices
