Importing Entity Properties

ATIMPORT_ENTITY_PROPERTIES Import entity properties from an Excel or CSV file

Ribbon: FireCAD > Entity Properties > Import Entity Properties

Prerequisites

  • A FireCAD project must be open

Overview

The ATIMPORT_ENTITY_PROPERTIES command imports entity property values from an Excel (.xlsx) or CSV file. This allows you to bulk-update device properties from external data sources.

Steps

  1. Type ATIMPORT_ENTITY_PROPERTIES in the AutoCAD command line
  2. A file browser dialog appears (filtered to Excel and CSV files)
  3. Select the import file and click Open
  4. FireCAD imports the property data
  5. A progress dialog appears:
    • "Updating Device Labels..."
    • "Updating Wirepath Labels..."
  6. Labels update to reflect the imported properties

File Format

The import file should match the format produced by ATEXPORT_ENTITY_PROPERTIES_TO_EXCEL. Use an exported file as a template.

Tips

  • Back up your project before bulk importing properties
  • Verify the import by running ATVALIDATE afterward
