Command Description
ATSET_PANEL_NAME Open the Panel Name Editor for a selected assembly device

Ribbon: FireCAD > Circuits > Set Device Name

Prerequisites

  • A FireCAD project must be open
  • An assembly device (panel or power supply) must be selected

Overview

The Panel Name Editor is a simple dialog for setting the device name (panel name) on an assembly device. The panel name is used as the prefix for all circuits originating from the device.

Layout

A compact window (351 x 185 pixels) with a single input field:

  • An instruction label explaining the purpose
  • A Device Name text field
  • Apply and Cancel buttons

Fields

Field Description
Device Name The name to assign to the device, used as the circuit prefix

Example

Setting the device name to "FA-1" means circuits from this panel will be named:

  • FA-1:L1 SLC
  • FA-1:L2 NAC
  • etc.

Buttons

Button Action
Apply Save the panel name and close
Cancel Close without saving

Steps

  1. Select a panel or power supply device in the drawing
  2. Type ATSET_PANEL_NAME in the AutoCAD command line
  3. Enter the desired device name
  4. Click Apply

Tips

  • The panel name is stored as the "PNL" entity property
  • This is a quick alternative to using the full Entity Properties Editor when you only need to set the panel name
  • The text field receives focus automatically when the dialog opens
