Move Circuits Dialog

Overview

The Move Circuits dialog lets you relocate circuit devices from one panel to another. It shows a side-by-side view of source circuits and compatible destinations, filtering destinations to only show circuits with matching connection types.

How to Access

The Move Circuits dialog is available from circuit management context menus or palette actions when you need to reassign devices between panels.

Layout

The dialog uses a two-pane layout:

  • Left pane — "Select Circuit To Relocate" — Source panel/circuit tree
  • Right pane — "Select Compatible Destination Circuit" — Filtered destination tree

Source Circuit Selection (Left Pane)

A hierarchical tree view displays all panels and their circuits:

  • Panels (top level) — Block image, panel name (bold), and part number (green)
  • Circuits (nested under panels) — Circuit display name with device count

Click on a circuit to select it as the source for relocation.

Destination Circuit Selection (Right Pane)

This pane populates automatically when you select a source circuit. It shows only compatible destination circuits — those with a matching connection type (e.g., SLC to SLC, NAC to NAC).

The tree structure mirrors the left pane but is filtered to show:

  • Only panels that have compatible circuit types
  • Only circuits with matching LimitType (connection type)
  • Empty circuits that could receive devices

Steps

  1. Select a source circuit in the left pane
  2. The right pane auto-populates with compatible destinations
  3. Select a destination circuit in the right pane
  4. Click Apply to move the devices
  5. A status message confirms the move
  6. Repeat for additional moves or click Close

Buttons

Button Action
Apply Move devices from selected source to selected destination
Close Close the dialog

Tips

  • You can perform multiple moves in a single dialog session — after each move, both trees refresh
  • Only circuits with matching connection types appear as destinations
  • The dialog updates the database and cache after each move
  • Both trees auto-expand on load for easy navigation
