Relocating an Entire Circuit

Command

Command Description
ATRELOCATE_CIRCUIT Open a dialog to relocate circuits between devices

Ribbon: FireCAD > Circuits > Relocate Panel Circuit

Prerequisites

  • A FireCAD project must be open
  • The active drawing must be part of the project

Overview

The ATRELOCATE_CIRCUIT command opens a dialog-based interface for relocating circuits between devices. Unlike ATRELOCATE (which moves all circuits from one device to another via command-line prompts), this command provides a visual interface where you can select specific circuits and target devices.

Steps

  1. Type ATRELOCATE_CIRCUIT in the AutoCAD command line
  2. The Relocate Circuit dialog opens
  3. Select the circuit(s) you want to relocate
  4. Select the destination device
  5. Click OK to apply the relocation
  6. Device and wirepath labels are updated automatically

When to Use

  • You need to move specific circuits (not all circuits from a device)
  • You want a visual overview of circuit assignments before making changes
  • You're reorganizing circuits across multiple devices in the project

Tips

  • This command provides more granular control than ATRELOCATE
  • Labels are automatically refreshed after the operation completes
  • The dialog shows the current circuit-to-device assignments for easy reference
