Validating Selected Devices

Command

Command Description
ATVALIDATE_SELECTION Validate only selected devices and wirepaths

Ribbon: FireCAD > Validation > Validate Selection

Prerequisites

  • A FireCAD project must be open

Overview

The ATVALIDATE_SELECTION command runs validation on only the selected devices and wirepath segments, then updates their labels. This is a lightweight alternative to ATVALIDATE when you only need to check specific elements.

Steps

  1. Type ATVALIDATE_SELECTION in the AutoCAD command line
  2. Select the devices and/or wirepath segments to validate
  3. Press Enter to confirm
  4. FireCAD validates the selected elements
  5. Labels update for the validated selection

When to Use

  • After making changes to specific devices
  • When you need a quick validation of a few elements without processing the entire drawing
  • For troubleshooting issues with specific devices

Tips

  • Much faster than ATVALIDATE for targeted checks
  • Only validates and updates labels for the selected elements
