Input Circuit Selection Dialog

Command

Command Description
ATSET_DEVICE_INPUT_CIRCUITS Assign input circuit templates to selected devices

Ribbon: FireCAD > Circuits > Set Device Input Circuits

Prerequisites

  • A FireCAD project must be open
  • One or more devices must be selected in the drawing

Overview

The Input Circuit Selection dialog lets you assign circuit template configurations to devices. It shows available circuit options organized by device part, card/assembly component, and selection group. You can configure circuits for multiple devices of the same type simultaneously.

Layout

The dialog uses a two-pane layout:

  • Left pane — "Available Input Circuit Settings" — Hierarchical tree of circuit template options
  • Right pane — "Select a Device to Edit" — List of selected devices

Device List (Right Pane)

Displays all devices from your selection. Each device shows:

  • Device block image
  • Device description
  • Manufacturer name
  • Part number (bold, green)

Click a device to load its available circuit options in the left pane.

Circuit Options (Left Pane)

A three-level hierarchical tree showing available circuit configurations:

Level 1: Part Groups

Shows the device's parts. For assembly devices, each card or internal component appears as a separate group:

  • Main part: "Part No: XYZ (x5)" — part number with quantity
  • Assembly parts: "Part No: XYZ (Card A)" or "Part No: XYZ (Internal)"

Level 2: Selection Groups

Within each part, options are grouped by circuit type:

  • "Selection Group: SLC"
  • "Selection Group: NAC"

Level 3: Circuit Options

Individual circuit template options shown as radio buttons:

  • Select a radio button to choose that configuration
  • Leave unselected to keep the device's existing circuit assignment
  • Options show descriptive names (e.g., "4A @ 12VDC", "8A @ 24VDC")

Within each selection group, only one option can be selected at a time.

Steps

  1. Type ATSET_DEVICE_INPUT_CIRCUITS in the AutoCAD command line
  2. Select one or more devices in the drawing and press Enter
  3. The dialog opens showing selected devices in the right pane
  4. Click a device in the right pane to see its circuit options
  5. Select the desired circuit template option in each selection group
  6. Click Apply to assign the selected templates

Buttons

Button Action
Apply Save circuit template selections and apply to all devices of the same type
Cancel Close without applying changes

Tips

  • Circuit settings apply to all devices of the same type in your selection — you don't need to configure each device individually
  • Groups with no selection will keep each device's existing circuit settings
  • The tree auto-expands to show all available options
  • For multi-address or multi-circuit devices, each card or selection group can be configured independently
