Relocating Circuit Origin

Command

Command Description
ATRELOCATE Move all circuits from one origin device to another

Ribbon: FireCAD > Circuits > Relocate Device Circuit

Prerequisites

  • A FireCAD project must be open
  • The active drawing must be part of the project

Overview

The ATRELOCATE command transfers all circuits originating from one device to a different device in the same drawing. This changes which device is the source (panel, power supply, etc.) for those circuits.

Steps

  1. Type ATRELOCATE in the AutoCAD command line
  2. You are prompted: "Select a device to relocate circuit(s) from:"
  3. Select the current origin device (the panel or device that currently owns the circuits)
  4. You are prompted: "Select a device to relocate circuit(s) to:"
  5. Select the new origin device
  6. All circuits from the source device are transferred to the destination device
  7. You can continue relocating more circuits (press Escape to finish)

When to Use

  • You need to reassign circuits to a different panel
  • A panel device was replaced and circuits need to point to the new block
  • Circuit origins were accidentally assigned to the wrong device

Tips

  • Both devices must be in the same drawing
  • All circuits from the source device are relocated — you cannot selectively move individual circuits with this command
  • For more control over which circuits to move, use ATRELOCATE_CIRCUIT which provides a dialog interface
