Write Block All

Command

Command Description
ATWBLOCK_ALL Export all block definitions as individual .dwg files

Prerequisites

  • A FireCAD project must be open

Overview

The ATWBLOCK_ALL command exports every block definition in the current drawing as a separate .dwg file. Each block becomes its own drawing file, saved to a folder you select. This is useful for creating a block library or sharing individual device definitions.

Steps

  1. Type ATWBLOCK_ALL in the AutoCAD command line
  2. A folder selection dialog appears
  3. Select the target folder where block files should be saved
  4. Click OK
  5. A progress dialog shows the export progress
  6. Each block definition is saved as an individual .dwg file named after the block

What Gets Exported

  • Every non-standard block definition in the current drawing
  • Each file contains a single block definition
  • External references and overlay references are excluded
  • Layout blocks are excluded

File Format

Files are saved in AutoCAD 2013 format (.dwg) for broad compatibility.

Tips

  • Create a dedicated folder for the export to keep files organized
  • Invalid filename characters in block names are automatically sanitized
  • Use this to build a reusable block library outside of the FireCAD project system
  • The progress dialog shows estimated time remaining for large block collections
