DOES THE STANDALONE VERSION OF FIRECAD HAVE BETTER PERFORMANCE?

0

I'VE BEEN USING FIRECAD FOR SOME TIME NOW AND I'VE NOTICED THAT ON LARGE PROJECTS, IT'S STARTING TO HAVE DIFFICULTY PRODUCTION OF BATTERY REPORTS, VOLTAGE DROP, ETC.

IN SOME CASES, IT TAKES 15, 25, AND 30 MINUTES TO GENERATE CALCULATION RESULTS.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE HAS EVER MIGRATED FROM THE PLUGGIN VERSION TO THE STANDALONE VERSION AND EXPERIENCED AN IMPROVEMENT IN THE SOFTWARE'S PERFORMANCE?

IF SO, ARE THERE ANY COMPARATIVE METRICS (ESPECIALLY RECALCULATION TIME)?

  • I use the Stand-alone version and have no trouble with Battery Reports or Voltage Drops, taking long at all. However, I usually export the Reports to Excel and edit them here and there as needed, then provide them as PDF's separate from my Layout and Riser. Thinking the electrician who installs the wiring and devices is not going to reference the reports.

On my old PC, some time generating a Riser would take some time. But never 15-30 minutes.

    Hope this helps
