Updating Segment Layer Colors

Command

Command Description
ATUPDATE_SEGMENT_LAYER_COLORS Assign segments to circuit-specific layers with appropriate colors

Ribbon: FireCAD > Cleanup > Update Wirepath Layers and Colors

Prerequisites

  • A FireCAD project must be open

Overview

The ATUPDATE_SEGMENT_LAYER_COLORS command assigns wirepath segments to AutoCAD layers based on their circuit assignments and applies circuit-specific colors. This makes it easy to visually distinguish different circuit paths in the drawing.

Steps

  1. Type ATUPDATE_SEGMENT_LAYER_COLORS in the AutoCAD command line
  2. FireCAD processes all segments in the active drawing
  3. Each segment is moved to a layer named after its circuit
  4. Layer colors are set based on circuit type

How It Works

  • For each circuit, FireCAD finds the origin device and creates/updates a layer
  • Segments are moved from their current layer to the circuit-specific layer
  • Layer colors correspond to the circuit type for visual differentiation

Tips

  • Run this after routing wirepaths to apply color-coding
  • Circuit-specific layers help with layer visibility management — freeze/thaw circuits by layer
  • Layer color settings can be influenced by the "Use True Colors for Device Layers" option
