Converting Dynamic Blocks

Command

Command Description
ATCONVERT_DYNAMIC Convert dynamic blocks to static blocks

Prerequisites

  • A drawing must be open

Overview

Converts AutoCAD dynamic blocks to standard static blocks. For each dynamic block, the current visibility state is extracted and saved as a new static block variant. This is useful when dynamic block functionality is not needed and static blocks are preferred for performance or compatibility.

Steps

  1. Type ATCONVERT_DYNAMIC in the AutoCAD command line
  2. Dynamic blocks in the drawing are converted to static equivalents
  3. Each visibility state becomes a separate block definition

When to Use

  • Preparing drawings for export to systems that don't support dynamic blocks
  • Reducing drawing complexity
  • Converting imported drawings that use dynamic blocks
