ATRESTORE_MISSING_DEVICES |
Restore device block references that are missing from the active drawing |
Prerequisites
- A FireCAD project must be open
- A drawing must be open in AutoCAD
Overview
The ATRESTORE_MISSING_DEVICES command scans the active drawing for devices that exist in the project database but are missing from the drawing geometry. This can happen if devices were accidentally erased from the drawing without using FireCAD's proper removal commands, leaving orphaned database records.
For each missing device, FireCAD recreates the block reference at the recorded location with the correct attributes and properties.
Steps
- Open the drawing that has missing devices
- Type
ATRESTORE_MISSING_DEVICESin the AutoCAD command line - A progress dialog appears: "Restoring Missing Devices..."
- FireCAD scans each entity in the database for the active drawing:
- If the device block reference exists and matches — skipped
- If the device is erased or missing — recreated from the device definition
- If the device exists but is the wrong type — recreated with the correct block
- Restored devices appear in the drawing at their original locations
What Gets Restored
For each missing device, FireCAD:
- Loads the correct block definition from the project database
- Creates a new block reference at the original position
- Applies all stored attributes (part number, labels, etc.)
- Copies extended data (XData) from the entity record
Tips
- After restoring devices, run
ATVALIDATEto verify data integrity - Run
ATREFRESH_LABELSto update all labels after restoration - If many devices are missing, consider using
ATRESTORE_MISSING_DRAWINGinstead, which rebuilds the entire drawing - This command only restores devices — for missing wirepaths, use
ATRESTORE_MISSING_SEGMENTS
