Overview
The Select Circuits dialog appears when generating circuit-based reports. It lets you choose which panels and circuits to include in the report and configure report-specific settings such as column layout, formatting, and calculation options.
How to Access
This dialog opens automatically when you run any of the following report commands:
ATEXPORT_BATTERY_CALCULATIONSATEXPORT_POINT_TO_POINT_REPORTSATEXPORT_SPEAKER_SCHEDULE_REPORTSATEXPORT_LUMP_SUM_REPORTSATEXPORT_DB_LOSS_REPORTSATEXPORT_DEVICE_SCHEDULE_REPORTSATEXPORT_BOM_REPORTATEXPORT_DEVICE_LEGENDATEXPORT_CABLE_LEGEND
Layout
The dialog is split into two panes:
- Left pane — Circuit selection tree
- Right pane — Report settings and column customization
Circuit Selection (Left Pane)
A hierarchical tree view displays all panels and their circuits:
- Panels (top level) — Shown with a block image, panel name, and part number
- Circuits (nested under panels) — Shown with circuit name and device count
Check or uncheck panels and circuits to include or exclude them from the report. All circuits are selected by default.
Toolbar Buttons
| Button | Action |
|---|---|
| Select All | Check all panels and circuits |
| Unselect All | Uncheck all panels and circuits |
| Expand All | Expand all tree nodes |
| Collapse All | Collapse all tree nodes |
Child circuits (connected through passthrough devices) appear at the bottom of the tree with a reference label and are not individually selectable.
Report Settings (Right Pane)
The available settings vary by report type. Common options include:
General Options
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Generate Previous Version Report Style | Use legacy report format without column customization |
| Show Internal Assembly Components | Display sub-components of assembly devices |
| Group Assembly Components Last | Move assembly parts to end of each circuit group |
| Force Uppercase Text | Convert all report text to uppercase |
| Include Card Totals | Show subtotals per card/node |
| Include Existing Parts | Include devices marked as existing |
| Include Child Circuit Devices | Include devices from child circuits with hierarchy markers |
| Show Part Number in Hierarchy | Display part numbers in hierarchical report views |
| Automatic Decimal Precision | Let the report engine determine decimal places |
| Shorten Description | Truncate long device descriptions |
Layout Options
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Symbol Scale Factor | Scale factor for device symbols in the report (default: 1.0) |
| Report Text Height | Text height in drawing units (default: 9) |
| Report Width Override | Override the automatic report width (with Reset button) |
Column Customization
When not using the legacy report style, you can customize report columns:
- Available Columns (left list) — All columns that can be added, with a search box
- Arrow buttons — Move columns between Available and Selected lists
- Selected Columns (right list) — Columns included in the report, drag to reorder
- Column Width Factor — Adjust the width of the selected column
- Sort Column — Enable sorting by the selected column
Battery Calculation Settings
When generating a battery calculation report (ATEXPORT_BATTERY_CALCULATIONS), a separate Battery Calculation Settings tab appears with additional options:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Generate Previous Version Report Style | Use legacy report format without column customization |
| Force Uppercase Text | Convert all report text to uppercase |
| Include Cell Formulas | Embed Excel formulas for standby/alarm current totals |
| Include Components Without Current | Show assembly sub-components even when they draw no current |
| Include Circuits Without Current | Show circuits that have zero standby and alarm current |
| Ignore Spare Circuits | Exclude spare/unused circuits from the report |
| Include Child Circuit Devices | Include devices from child circuits with hierarchy markers |
| Show Part Number in Hierarchy | Display part numbers in hierarchical report views |
| Show Speaker Currents (W ÷ V = A) | Convert speaker wattage to alarm current using the circuit voltage |
| Include Card Totals | Show subtotals per card/node |
| Automatic Decimal Precision | Let the report engine determine decimal places |
| Shorten Description | Truncate long device descriptions |
| Show Only Circuit Current Totals (Hide Part Details) | Collapse individual devices to circuit-level totals |
The battery calc tab also includes the same layout options (Symbol Scale Factor, Report Text Height, Report Width Override) and column customization as the general report settings tab.
Buttons
| Button | Action |
|---|---|
| Accept | Generate the report with current selections and settings |
| Close | Cancel without generating a report |
Tips
- The dialog remembers your column selections and settings between sessions
- Report-specific settings tabs appear based on which report type you're generating
- For Legend and BOM reports, the circuit selection pane is hidden since those reports include all devices
