Device Coverage Display

Commands

Command Description
ATSHOWCOVERAGE Show coverage visualization for selected devices
ATHIDECOVERAGE Hide coverage visualization for selected devices

Prerequisites

  • A FireCAD project must be open

Overview

These commands control the visibility of device coverage overlays in the drawing. Coverage visualizations show the detection or notification range of devices such as smoke detectors, heat detectors, or notification appliances.

Showing Coverage

  1. Type ATSHOWCOVERAGE in the AutoCAD command line
  2. Select the devices to display coverage for
  3. Press Enter to confirm
  4. Coverage indicators appear around each selected device

Hiding Coverage

  1. Type ATHIDECOVERAGE in the AutoCAD command line
  2. Select the devices to hide coverage for
  3. Press Enter to confirm
  4. Coverage indicators are removed from the selected devices

How It Works

Coverage visibility is stored as metadata (XRecord) on each block reference. The ShowCoverage flag toggles the visibility of coverage geometry associated with the device block.

Tips

  • Coverage transparency can be adjusted in Options & Configuration under the Circuits tab (Device Coverage Transparency setting)
  • Coverage is per-device — you can show coverage for specific devices while hiding others
  • Use coverage display during design review to verify spacing requirements
