You wish to apply labels to devices for the purpose of indicating their locations. You wish to show these locations on the riser but not on the floor plans because the floor plan locations are obvious.
Start by choosing the Set Entity Properties command.
Select the entities (Objects) you wish to label.
By default, the name of the property is "Location". You can accept this name or type in another. We will accept "Location".
If there is a text string you can select (such as a room name) you can select it.
In this case, we select the text string "LOBBY"
The attribute "LOBBY" is applied to the devices we have selected.
Now we wish to label a device which has no text string to select. (The smoke detector below).
Using the same command and after selecting the device, we enter the letter "t" or choose "TYPE" from the options on the command line.
We are now prompted to type the text label. We type "SOUTH EAST"
Now when we create a riser, the labels appear on the respective devices.
Back on the floor plans, the labels are still visible. However, we do not wish to display them on the floor plans.
We choose the "Set Attribute Visibility" command.
Since we named the entity property "Location", we look for it at the end of the list in the Entity attribute grouping.
We UNcheck the box.
Then we Apply.
The labels are no longer visible on the floor plans.
However, since the riser drawing is static, the labels remain visible.
