Reversing the Lettering on Linetypes

Overview

FireCAD linetypes include embedded letters (for example, "F" for fire alarm cable) that identify the cable or circuit type. Depending on the direction a polyline was drawn, the letters may appear upside down or backwards. This article explains how to reverse the letter direction on a linetype.

Identifying the Issue

If the letters on a wirepath display in the wrong orientation, the polyline was drawn in the opposite direction of what the linetype expects.

Fix

Use AutoCAD's REVERSE command to flip the polyline direction:

  1. Type REVERSE at the command line.
  2. Select the polyline (or polylines) you want to reverse.
  3. Press Enter.

The letter orientation updates immediately.
