Introduction

When you are using your own local master database files, you have to set the '(localdb)\firecad' connection to point to the location of your .MDF and .LDF files. These can stored be on your main hard drive, USB drive, or even a network location. Fortunately there is a simple way to update the location of these files.

Changing The Local Database Connection

In the connection dialog, click the 'Browse' button and then browse to the folder you have your own .MDF and .LDF files. These files are a pair and should be moved together-

Select the  main .MDF file and click 'Open'. The '(localdb)\firecad' connection will then be associated with this location until you change it-
